Ford SID212 Same Day Tuning

We can now offer in-house same-day SID212 ECU remapping. This ECU is found in 2019+ Ford Ranger, Ford Transit, Ford Focus, Ford Mondeo Ford Galaxy and Ford S-Max models. If you’ve been told your SID212 vehicle needs sending away for unlock, this is not the case with Phantom Tuning. We can tune them in-house with same day drop off and collection.

Ford SID212 Same Day ECU Remapping

Modern Ford diesel vehicles (from around 2019 and onwards) are equipped with the SID212 ECU. This ECU was developed by Continental (SIEMENS) and contains additional anti-tuning protection measures. This meant that for nearly half a decade, tuners were unable to access the data on the ECU to then modify and tune the control unit.

The solution up until recently (early 2026 at the time of writing), was that in mid 2025, we would have to send the ECU away to one of 2 companies to unlock the SID212 ECU. We would then receive the ECU back and be able to reprogram them.

The landscape has changed and we are now able to unlock and tune these in-house, without the need of sending the ECU away. This means that you no longer have to be without your vehicle for 3-5 days and we carry out the whole service in 1 day.
